LMY (Lamy NM)

In the middle of nowhere lies a small settlement, Lamy station, which to this day is the stop of a 2000 mile Chicago – Los Angeles Amtrak connection. The average speed of this train ride is a comfortable 40 mph. Clearly Amtrak wants to offer its customer some nostalgia and that distinct old time, wild west feel. Forget about Shinkansen, Bullet trains, hyperloop pipe dreams who needs it? We do have the time and stamina to survive a rugged, 65 hour ride from the mid-west to the west coast. Lamy station is the perfect reflection of this time travel. Its made up from a church, a tiny station which offers absolutely nothing, abandoned engines and cars of the old Santa Fe line, and some coyotes. Reason enough for me to take a peak and bring back a few evening pictures.
